Join Sports & Teen Director Suzie James (who is also a registered Maine Guide) on a fantastic summer camping experience. The adventure begins at Baxter State Park, with a challenging wilderness climb up Mount Katahdin. Campers will spend three fun filled overnights at Penobscot Outdoor Center, at the base of the mountain. The next adventure occurs on the roaring Penobscot River, where teens will paddle class III and class IV rapids. The trip ends with a camping and hiking adventure in Acadia National Park. This classic Maine adventure camp is designed especially for young teens.
Requirements: The challenges of Y Adventure Bound can be physically demanding. We recommend regular aerobic exercise for at least a month before camp. Walking, jogging, hiking and biking are great ways to increase fitness levels, allowing campers to enjoy the Adventure Bound experience to its fullest.
Contact Suzie 288-3511 x106, sports@mdiymca.org, for more info & physical fitness requirements.
If your child is going to Y summer camp, you will need the following 5 items. Because these items must be received at the same time payment is made, on-line registration for this camp is not permitted.
