New! Half-Day Preschool Program

Monday thru Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm. 2-day, 3-day or 5-day option
Children attend all of the same classes with full day classmates, but depart for the day at 12:30pm. The program includes swimming, story time at Jesup Library, music and movement, free play, and craft projects. In addition, children are introduced to all of the skills they will need to have a successful start in Kindergarten. Fee schedule listed at bottom of this page.

The YMCA Preschool is a safe, caring environment where children are encouraged to learn new skills, freely express themselves and explore their environment. The program promotes the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Through playful learning, preschoolers gain social skills and develop physical and cognitive abilities. The goal of this program is to create independent, self-confident, curious learners who can work well with others.

Preschoolers participate weekly in swim lessons, free swim pool time, gymnastics classes, sports programs and Children’s Hour at Jesup Library. In the classroom, children learn through daily experiences of literacy, dramatic play, art, sand and water exploration, music and movement, science, cooking and computers. The staff is lead by Ms. Edith. In keeping with the purpose and philosophy of the YMCA, Ms. Edith and her staff strive to help children develop fully in body, mind and spirit.

Full Day Preschoolers: Although the actual Preschool Program runs from 8:30am - 12:30pm, the childcare center is open Monday - Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm for your convenience.
