Pilates & Water Exercise
Class starts with a 20 - 25 minute session of Pilates on the pool deck, concentrating on core stabilization & mobility training. Participants then move to the pool for an energetic water exercise program that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the participants. Exercises may include water aerobics, deep water exercises & lap swimming to develop the cardio-vascular system.

Master’s Swim Team (Ages 19+)
A coached workout for all levels/abilities. Master’s Swim Team is now being led by former Shark & UMaine swimmer Jessica Nickels. Jessica is an active masters swimmer who was ranked fourth in the country last year in her age group.

Adult Swim Lessons (Ages 14+)
For either the novice swimmer seeking to build confidence and learn basic swimming and survival skills or for the intermediate swimmer seeking to improve stroke techniques. Classes are designed to meet the individual needs of each participant. It’s never too late to learn to swim or to improve your skills.

Private Swim Instruction
Group instruction not for you? One-on-one instruction is available by private arrangement with Jim Willis, Aquatics Director. $24 per half hour. 288-3511 x114

Pay the session package price and attend any and all below listed Aqua Aerobic and Low Impact Water Exercise classes!

aqua-aerobicsAqua-Aerobics (Ages 18+)
Designed for non-swimmers as well as swimmers - regardless of age or physical condition. The buoyant quality of water makes possible movements that can be very difficult on land. Rehabilitation of muscles, increased strength and endurance, release of stress and tension, and improved appearance are all possible through participation in this water exercise program.

Low Impact Water Exercise (Ages 18+)
Participants will be led through a series of exercises which, with the aid of the water’s buoyancy and resistance, can help improve joint flexibility. The water and gentle movements can also help relieve pain and stiffness. A great class for those with arthritis, MS or other conditions in which mobility is limited.
